You’ll find books by Sonny Brewer, Winston Groom, Frank Hollon, Fannie Flagg or Rick Bragg at the Fairhope Library and just might see the writers themselves strolling around town. And find out who’s staying at the Fairhope Writer’s Cottage these days.

The Wolff Cottage behind the Library is owned by the City of Fairhope and since 2004 maintained and operated by the Fairhope Center for the Writing Arts. Their mission of support for the writing arts supports the historic cottage as a temporary residence for published writers – a quiet refuge to begin or complete new works. Thanks to private donations , the cottage and furnishings are offered without charge to writers who apply well in advance for a three-month stay (and it’s booked through the end of 2018.) Well-known names and up and coming writers have called this little place home – with a signed guestbook and photos of many on the walls.
