Each spring, Eastern Shore Reparatory takes Fairhope arts to its roots – at thebayfront. Since the town’s earliest days, outdoor performances were set at the bottom of the bluff near the pier, where Henry George Park creates a natural amphitheater. Generations of Fairhopers remember the shows – and today enjoy ESRT one of a kind theatrical events each spring. Founder/Director Erin Langley’s Theater on the Bluff has featured Bye Bye Birdie, Music Man, The Little Mermaid, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – almost always featuring a Technicolor sunset Erin and company could never script better. Catch schedules, ticket prices and more at easternshorerep.org.
The Baldwin Pops performs throughout the county year-round, but saves two of its best for Fairhope: Memorial Day and Founders Day on the bluff. Each first Sunday in October the Pops celebrate Fairhope Founders Day at Henry George Park. Get there well before the music starts at 6 to grab the perfect picnic spot.
